Come and experience beautiful Meelup Beach, just a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Dunsborough and roughly mid-way to Eagle Bay.
The sand itself is amazingly clean and white and the waters are usually quite protected from large waves so it’s quite idyllic during the summer month for swimming, snorkelling, fishing and simply lazing in the sun or under the shady trees.
It’s all the more stunning because of the setting: there are large expanses of grass leading down to the beach yet it’s flanked on all sides by the tall native trees, bushland and rocky outcrops of Meelup Regional Park.
It’s also one of THE most incredible places to watch a full moon rising. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll get to see the moonlight reflected across the water.
Be warned, though: it can get very busy here on summer weekends and public holidays, when the carpark, ice-cream van, BBQ areas and freshwater showers will be in hot demand.
For most of the year, it’s simply magic and hard to top as one of the area’s best beaches.
